Working in the tradition of fine art photography, I deeply enjoy the intimacy and rhythm of a wedding day. My focus is on observing and capturing the details that make up this shared yet profoundly personal experience. I have discovered what a thrill and challenge it is to document a wedding in an unobtrusive style that honors the integrity and individuality of each wonderful couple as their wedding story unfolds.
I earned a B.F.A. in photography at the School of Visual Arts in New York City, where I was born and raised. Upon graduation, I kept my lens trained on the familiar neighborhoods and people of Brooklyn and Queens, resulting in numerous gallery shows and publication in The New York Times Magazine. My work from this period was featured in a book showcasing young photographers from around the country titled 25 and Under: Photographers, published by W.W Norton and the the Duke University Center for Documentary Studies. I worked as a news photographer and have substantial experience photographing public figures and events as a staff photographer with the New York City Parks Department. My photos are collected privately and are on display in the permanent collection at Duke University.
I have made my home in Connecticut with my husband and two sons, where I continue to make photographs nearly every day.
